Edo police rescue abducted oil workers

– The four oil workers that were abducted, on Tuesday, January 26 have been rescued by the police in Benin city.
– Edo state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, received the management team of the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).
– The Managing Director, Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), Benin, Abubakar Sadeeg Mai-Bornu, thanked the police for the quick rescue mission.

The police in Benin have announced the rescue of the three oil workers who were abducted, on Tuesday, January 26. ‎The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, announced the rescue of the abducted oil workers, on Thursday, January 28 when he received the management team of the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), who was in his office to show appreciation for the prompt rescue of their staff.
Ezike, however, clarified that the victims were kidnapped along Old-Benin Lagos road, around Oluku area, on their way to Lagos, last Tuesday.
He assured them of adequate security needed for their operation in Edo state.
The Managing Director, Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), Benin, Abubakar Sadeeg Mai-Bornu, who led the team, thanked the police for the speed with which the rescue was made.
“I am here to thank you and your team for the effort made towards the successful rescue of our colleagues, we saw them at the hospital, thank God they are hale and healthy,” Abubakar said.
